In rural areas, Women's labour force participation is less than men's, which impacts their economic autonomy. To tackle this, The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar has announced the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana on June 28, 2022. This scheme mainly aims to enhance women's health and nutrition, as well as their dependent children, and to gain the ability to decide within the families. Under this scheme, women will receive Rs 1,250 per month, which makes a crucial step to improve their self-reliance and overall well-being.

There have been 12,533,145 number of applicants as of October 23, 2023. And, 12,505,947 were eligible in total. The total number of applications that had no objections was 2,03,042.

Benefits of Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana Maharashtra

  • Every eligible woman will be paid Rs 1,250 per month in her Aadhar-linked DBT-enabled bank account
  • All women below 60 years old who get less than Rs.1000 per month under the Social Security Pension Scheme, will be granted up to Rs 1,250

Eligibility Criteria for Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana Maharashtra

Below are the eligibility criteria for the scheme:

  • Applicant should be a resident of Maharashtra
  • The applicants must be married, which includes divorced, widows, and abandoned
  • Women must have completed 23 years and below 60
  • Women whose self-declared amount is not more than Rs. 2.5 lakhs either self or family
  • The applicant must not be taxpayers, either themselves or their family
  • The applicant herself or members of the family must not be regular/ contractual/ permanent employees in any government sector or receiving pensions

Application Process for Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana Maharashtra

  • Step 1: Forms for the application can be taken from the local Gram Panchayat, Ward Office, or Anganwadi center
  • Step 2: The application forms must be submitted on the Ladli Behna portal or app on the designated campsite, Gram Panchayat, Ward office
  • Step 3: A photograph of the women will be captured during the application process
  • Step 4: The application number received after the submission will be recorded in the acknowledge
  • Step 5: A printed acknowledgment will be given, and also through SMS/ Whatsapp

Pre-requisites for Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana Maharashtra

  1. Aadhar composite e-KYC: Verification will be done on the Samagra portal or by biometric authentification
  2. Personal bank account: Having own bank account is mandatory for all women applying for this scheme
  3. Aadhar linked and DBT activated bank account: The women's personal bank account must be linked with Aadhar and must have DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) enabled

If you don't have comprehensive e-KYC, you can get it done by visiting a nearby ration shop, Maharashtra online center, and CSC Kiosk. No amount is needed to pay as the government is paying Rs. 15 for each e-KYC to the kiosk.

Documents Required for the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana Application Process

All eligible women must have the following documents when applying for the scheme:

  • Member ID or Family ID issued by Samagra Portal
  • Aadhar card issued by UIDAI
  • Mobile Number registered on Samagra Portal

How to Check if the Form is Accepted

When the form is submitted to https://ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ you can see a provisional list of applicants. The same will be viewed in the gram panchayat and ward office. Individuals will have 15 days to voice any concerns. Following examination, the final list will be released and a sanction letter will be given to the eligible beneficiaries.

Payment of Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana to the beneficiary

The amount will be paid to the eligible beneficiary in their Aadhar-linked DBT-enabled bank account. At the time of applying, if the woman does not have a bank account she will be asked to open a new account, which must be Aadhar-linked with DBT.

Under this scheme, a secured fund transfer to the bank accounts of beneficiaries is done on the 10th of every month.

How to Check the Status of the Amount Received

You will have to go to the portal and click on the status of the application. You can also check it by entering your application number or Samagra ID and verifying the OTP from the registered mobile number.
