The palace is called Lake Palace as it is situated on Jag Niwas island on Pichola Lake.

Madhya Pradesh's grandest palace, Jai Vilas Palace, was once home to the Maratha Scindia dynasty. The palace, situated in Gwalior, is a perfect blend of various European styles such as Italo-Doric, Tuscan, and Corinthian architecture styles. The palace expands over 124,771 sq ft and has a grand durbar hall. It was designed by Sir Michael Filose.

9) Jal Mahal, Jaipur

Perhaps the most iconic royal palace in India, Jal Mahal or Water Mahal, is placed in the center of Man Sagar Lake. Constructed in 1699, the palace is set upon traditional Rajput architecture. Four stories of the structure are underwater and have an exquisite roof garden as well.

10) Hawa Mahal, Jaipur

The most iconic royal palace in India, the Hawa Mahal, was built by the famous Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The uniquely crafted palace is built on pink and red sandstone and has 953 small windows called Jharokhas. Designed by Lal Chand Ustad because the unique architectural feature allows cool air to pass through the structure without any hindrance.
