A standard passport in India has a validity of 10 years. At the time the validity ends, comes the passport renewal procedure. And this renewal can be done remotely or via online process.

How to Renew a Passport Online?

Here, let us help you out with the step-by-step guide on how to do passport renewal online. Follow the below steps to renew your passport online:
Step 1: Visit the Passport Seva online website.
Step 2: Register if you are a new user by clicking on "New User Registration" or click on "Existing User Login" and log in with your Login ID and password.
Step 3: After logging in to your account, search for "Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport" and click on it.
Step 4: Download the e-form for Fresh or re-issue of passport.
Step 5: Fill out the form & upload required documents and finally click on "Validate".
Step 6: After completing the passport renewal process, submit the e-form.
Step 7: Pay the renewal fee online with UPI, net-banking or Debit card.
Step 8: Sheduel an appointment in the Passport Seva Kendra near you to complete the passport renewal process.

mPassport Seva - Passport Renewal Online
mPassport Seva app is a passport mobile application launched by the Former Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj. mPassport Seva app offers several services such as passport renewal online, passport application status tracking, finding Passport Seva Kendra, and many more.
As mentioned above, you can also renew your passport online with the help of the mPassport Seva app. Follow the below steps to do passport renewal in mPassport Seva app:
Step 1: Visit the Passport Seva website.
Step 2: In the home page, from the "Value Added Service" tab, select "mPassport Seva App".
Step 3: You will be redirected to another page. Scroll down and select the OS version you need, "Android" or "iOS" and download the mPassport Seva app for your mobile.
Step 4: Install the mPassport Seva app in your mobile and log in with your ID and password.
Step 5: Apply for the fresh or re-issue of passport.
Step 6: Fill in the form and submit the required documents and click on validate.
Step 7: Pay the passport renewal fee and schedule for a visit in the Passport Seva Kendra near you and complete the renewal process.
