The renewed efforts focused on addressing the previous concerns and moving forward with the construction of the Jewar Airport to be set up on 2,200 acres (890 ha) of land, which is approximately 72km away from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, thereby meeting the growing demand for air travel in the region.

Noida Airport Master Plan was approved by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and finally led to laying the foundation stone of the project by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on 25 November.

The final phase of the construction of the Jewar Airport is ongoing and soon will commence the first trial run on the runway. The airport is expected to open for commercial run on September 30, 2024.
