New bus routes, including 95, 91, 102K, 221, M119, 519, 570, and S95, have been added to Tambaram, Kannagi Nagar, Kelambakkam, Royapettah, Marina, Koyambedu, and Velachery. There are plans to launch new bus lines to Perungudi's outskirts, including Kamaraj Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Telephone Nagar, Elim Nagar, and others.

Perungudi Lake is one of the prominent water bodies situated in the IT corridor of Chennai in Perungudi. Historically, the lake was a key supply of water for irrigation of the surrounding agricultural fields. It now serves the drinking water demands of a few settlements surrounding the lake and maintains groundwater levels. Excess rain from covering residential areas eventually drains into the lake via stormwater systems. Perungudi Lake is linked to Pallikaranai Wetland by marshlands that stretch through Perungudi, Velachery and Pallikaranai. Kurinji Nagar and Kamaraj Nagar are two prominent nearby neighborhoods. The eastern corridor and the high-rise buildings that houses proximity to luxury IT firms are the beauty and pride of the locality.

Rajiv Gandhi IT Expressway, Inner Ring Road, East Coast Road, and Old Mahabalipuram Road are the key roadways that connect Perungudito to the rest of the city. Tambaram railway station (17.6 kilometers) and Guindy railway station are also close (8.9 km). This location is 15.7 kilometers from Chennai International Airport.
