    In Odisha Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated during the start of the sowing of rice paddy after the Kharif Season. The day's celebration starts with ritual worship of mother earth, bullocks, seeds, and traditional forms of equipment, by farmers for god's blessings of a good crop harvest.

    Farmers sow paddy seeds after plowing the fields as a symbolic start of the Kharif Crop state. This traditional ceremony is popularly known as Akhi Muthi Anukula or Akhi-Akshaya Tritiya (Muthi-Fistfull of paddy).

    In the Telugu-speaking states namely Andra Pradesh and Telangana Akshaya Tritiya festival projects prosperity and finds a whole unique perspective, women purchase gold and diamond jewelry and immerse themselves in it until satisfied.

    This day is auspicious for those who purchase silver and gold, also buy paddy/rice and stock it for future use, deposit money in bank accounts, buy new household things.

    Women prefer to particularly visit Lakshmi or Venkateshwara temple/s as a customary ritual and find Akshaya Tritiya as a great occasion to flaunt their jewellery possession; also offer prasadam to others and offer clothes/money to poor people, or financially help less privileged children for their education fees, and include more good deeds in their karmic cycle followed on the Akshaya Tritiya.

    In Jainism Akshaya Tritia relates to Rishabhanatha (Tirthankara) ending his one-year tapas by consuming sugarcane juice and drinking it from his cupped hands. This festival is also popularly known as Varshi Tapa.

    On this day seekers end their alternative day fasting known as Varshi-Tap by performing Parana (consuming sugar-cane Juice).
